Instructions for Editor

EDITOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Selecting Manuscripts: Editors are responsible for evaluating submitted manuscripts and deciding which ones are suitable for publication in the journal. They assess the quality, originality, significance, and relevance of the research presented.
  • Peer Review Management: Editors oversee the peer review process, which involves selecting appropriate reviewers, managing the review timeline, and making final decisions based on reviewer feedback. They ensure that reviews are conducted impartially and constructively.
  • Maintaining Editorial Standards: Editors establish and maintain the editorial policies and standards of the journal. They ensure that all published content meets these standards, including adherence to ethical guidelines and proper citation practices.
  • Communication: Editors communicate with authors, reviewers, and other stakeholders throughout the publishing process. They provide guidance to authors on manuscript preparation and respond to inquiries from reviewers and readers.
  • Decision Making: Editors make final decisions on whether to accept, reject, or request revisions for submitted manuscripts. They weigh reviewer comments, assess the significance of the research, and consider the journal's scope and objectives when making these decisions.
  • Conflict Resolution: Editors handle conflicts of interest, disputes between authors and reviewers, and other ethical issues that may arise during the editorial process. They ensure fairness and transparency in all editorial decisions.
  • Promotion and Outreach: Editors promote the journal within the academic community by attending conferences, participating in scholarly networks, and engaging with authors and readers through various channels. They strive to increase the visibility and impact of the journal.
  • Continuous Improvement: Editors continuously evaluate and improve the journal's editorial processes and policies. They solicit feedback from authors, reviewers, and readers to identify areas for enhancement and implement changes accordingly.
  • Editorial Board Management: Editors may oversee an editorial board composed of subject matter experts who provide guidance and support for the journal. They recruit new board members, assign manuscript review tasks, and collaborate with board members on strategic decisions.
  • Staying Informed: Editors stay abreast of developments in their field of study, emerging trends in scholarly publishing, and changes in academic publishing standards and practices. They ensure that the journal remains relevant and competitive within its discipline
  • Editorial board members are requested to contact their friends, colleagues, students and outside experts for submissions (minimum 2 articles per month).

Note:

If an editor submits their own article to the journal they oversee, they will receive a 40% waiver on the publication fees.
